Man arrested after elderly couple found dead in Kensington home

Did you see or hear anything suspicious?”We need you to get in touch and speak with investigators as soon as you can.” Detectives have launched a murder investigation after the bodies of an elderly couple were found in a west London flat.Scotland Yard said the pair, believed to be a man and a woman in their late 60s, were discovered by officers in their home at Adair Tower, Appleford Road, in north Kensington on Thursday.Officers were alerted to the address by colleagues in Surrey, who were contacted by a man known to both victims, police said.A man in his late 40s has been arrested by Surrey Police on suspicion of murder.Detectives from the Met will bring the detained man to London for questioning, Scotland Yard said.Formal identification and post-mortem examinations are yet to take place and police are in the process of contacting the couple’s next of kin.Police inquiries are continuing and a crime scene is in place at Adair Tower.DCI Rob Pack, who is leading the investigation for the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: “This is an awful case where an elderly couple have been found dead in their home.”My team are busy carrying out a number of inquiries including local CCTV footage review, house-to-house inquiries and forensic work but need to hear from those who have information.
